Children's writing: fronted adverbials - by Amila

Thank you for sharing your writing, Amila. The beginning of this story immediately draws your reader in because we wonder why the sisters are marching and why they are in this icy environment. You always carefully choose your images, such as the 'noodle' pathways. The ending, where they girls finally find their brother, unbreathing and suspended silently in tree sap is a breath-stopping image. Well done.
You wrote this during one of our Weekly Writing Clubs where we look at a new picture each week and focus on one writing skill – and for this challenge, we experimented with fronted adverbials to give more information. You explored and discussed the image, learnt new vocabulary and ways to use it and then tried out this skill focus. Then, you produced this piece of writing. Wonderful!
