Thank you for sharing your wonderful story continuation, Adrian. You read Chapter 6 of the book, The Giant Under The Snow, and then continued from a section of it just as a thinn man emerges from behind a tree.
You have used some excellent figurative language to create vivid images of this man, and to describe how inhospitable the forest was.
Examples:
Onomatopoeia: Crack!
Metaphor: A sound broke the silence.
Metaphor: Winter's deathly grasp had strangled this forest.
Repetition: Nothing sounded, nothing stirred, nothing sang.
