This course, well-established over many years and highly regarded by families, will instil in each child a flair and confidence for writing that will not only carry them through their 11+ exam but also set a strong foundation for their secondary education.

Your child will be taught and guided by expert qualified teacher and 11+ writing tutor, Anna Donovan, who has decades of experience teaching and assessing children in KS2 writing.

Who this is suitable for

Suitable for children taking highly competitive grammar second-stage writing exams, FSCE and/or independent school exams. Please get in touch with Anna to discuss your target schools before booking the course.

What the course covers

  • Fiction writing for 11+ exams.
  • Non-fiction writing for 11+ exams.
  • All 11+ writing skills (text structure with paragraphing, literary devices, language development, sentence structure and punctuation).

What your child will achieve

  • Confidence to plan and write 11+ exam texts, no matter how challenging.
  • Expertise in all core 11+/KS2 writing skills.
  • An ability to quickly and confidently self-assess their own 11+ exam writing, identifying next steps/targets.
  • High-level 11+ vocabulary knowledge and application through 11+ literary devices.
  • No more writing gaps.

Here’s what happens

  • Ten weekly classes (recorded so you can watch again).
  • The first class is a lesson with an initial assessment built in so your child's strengths and areas for improvement can be quickly identified. Thorough and actionable written and video feedback is provided.
  • Original and engaging lessons which teach complex subjects in an accessible way.
  • Weekly homework and meaningful video marking of both class work and homework.
  • Regular full writing assessments and feedback (with your target schools in mind) so you know exactly how your child is progressing.
  • Guidance given so you know how your child is progressing towards the level required for their chosen school.

Important details of the online course

  • A 10-week course of 1.5 hours a week, led by highly experienced and qualified teacher and tutor, Anna.
  • Maximum class size of 6 students.
  • Weekly lesson materials and personal feedback are shared via Dropbox.
  • Model 11+ texts are provided (bespoke and written specifically for My Home Class student only).
  • This course delivers Term 1 of a 3-term curriculum. The curriculum is designed to be suitable for children who are just joining for one term, as well as long-standing students as each term has fresh content.

Course fee and how to book

To book now, please pay in full (£595) or a non-refundable deposit for the first two weeks (£119). Once we've established the course's suitability for your child, the remainder of the course will be invoiced in three instalments.

Terms & Conditions

  • Once booked, payment for the first two classes is a non-refundable deposit. After the first two classes, we can discuss how your child is getting on and if the course suits their needs. Please book a call with Anna to discuss the curriculum and its suitability for your child.
  • If your child cannot attend a session, Anna will send the class recording, and work can still be submitted for marking and assessment.
  • No refunds can be made for missed classes as the course is bookable for a 10-week unit of lessons.
  • Classes ARE recorded and shared just with the six students in the group.
  • One learner per booking. If two children from the same household join, please use separate devices in separate rooms to maximise their individual learning.
  • Cameras to remain on to help with interaction with others and teacher support and feedback.
