Writing a complex sentence - by Haadiyah

Haadiyah, you have done a fantastic job combining lots of detail about a character's movements into one complex sentence. This will help to make your writing very concise when writing a full story.

You first chose what the character was going to be doing (verb) and where (preposition). You also considered the emotions that you wanted to convey both in the character and from your reader! I also spotted that you started the second sentence with an -ing verb 'Frowning', which makes the sentence start with a subordinate clause, and therefore makes it a complex sentence. Well done!
