Children's writing: The Magic Room (a description of a room) - by Alicia

What a way to draw your reader in from the start, Alicia:
'Hidden in the shadow stood a cinnamon-brown door.'
Immediately, readers will want to know the significance of this door, and they will read on.
It is a tricky to write a description of one setting and make each sentence as good quality as the last - but you've managed to this this by using a large palette of writing techniques such as alliteration, onomatopoeia, simile, metaphor, personification and repetition (to name just a few!).
Thanks so much for sharing this.
Let's read ...
