You have used alliteration and onomatopoeia so effectively here, Jayden. By using such careful choices of vocabulary, you have created superb atmosphere.
Example:
... the fire making crackling and cackling noises...
They thumped through the heavy blanket of snow...
The dark forest rustled and rumbled ...
