Children's Writing: building tension by describing a staircase - by Ibrahim

27.04.22

Thank you for sharing your writing, Ibrahim! This is super piece of writing. In our Weekly Writing Club, our focus for this week was to create tension when describing a character finding and moving up a staircase. You used excellent 'Show Don't Tell' to show how the character was feeling, by using well-chosen verbs such as 'quivering' and 'shaking' and 'shrugging my shoulders'. You also used lots of detailed features of the stairs so that your reader could imagine being there (i.e. step, handrail, staircase). Great job!

Let's read your wonderful writing ...
